■人から聞いた話だが、ある心理学の研究者が都内の一般大学と美術大学で授業を持っていたとき、あるアンケートをしたという。質問は、「あなたは子どものころ、頭を強く打った経験はありませんか？」というものだ。結果がすごい。圧倒的に美術大学の学生のほうが、子どものころ頭を強く打っていた。打ってるんだよ、美大生は、頭を。考えてみれば、私もそうだった。子どものころ、いとこに肩車をしてもらっているとき、そのまま、うしろに倒れて後頭部を強く打ったのだ。それで美術大学に入ってしまった。
